How Does The Mentorship Program at SoMR Work?
Through the Mentorship Program, SoMR assigns the participants of Level 1 and Level 2 Courses with a mentor. The mentors are divided into 3 categories on the basis of their skill set:
- Category A: Reviews
- Category B: Case Reports, Cross Sectional Studies
- Category C: LTEs
What are the Prerequisites for Applying as a Mentor at SoMR?
Applicants of the Mentorship Program go through a rigorous selection process before being assigned as a mentor. The selection criteria is as follows:
- Applicants must have at least two or three publications in PubMed indexed journals.
- Applicants must be acquainted with the basics and fundamentals of research and are expected to have adequate research experience.
- Applicants’ previous work attached in their ResearchGate profile is assessed based on topic, analysis, level of authorship, etc.
- Applicants must be committed and dedicated enough to lead their research projects till publication.
- Applicants must have previously served in roles and positions that require leading and supervising projects.

Through the Mentorship Program, not only do the mentees get a chance to publish with esteemed mentors but mentors are also given numerous incentives:
- Mentors will get last authorship of every article that their group gets published.
- Mentors will be given letters of acknowledgement.
- Mentors will be accorded priority consideration for joining the SoMR team, particularly within the Research Education department
